Mistakes to Avoid When Filling the SBI PO Application Form

3 Mins read

Every year, the State Bank of India holds recruitment drives across India to fill vacant posts in different branches. Today, you are not required to send the application form and documents by post. The recruitment process is mostly completed online, including filling of the SBI PO application, writing exams, and the announcement of the results. Many people do not read the instructions carefully before filling the SBI PO application form. The following is a list of mistakes to avoid in the process.

Don’t Make Mistakes in Your Name.

When filling the SBI Probationary application form, you need to write your name exactly like it appears on your photo ID and educational documents. If your name in the application form does not match your photo ID, you might not be allowed to appear for the exams. The first name, middle name, and last name should be exactly like the name on the photo ID.

Mention the Correct Email Address and Phone Number

Make sure you mention the correct email address in the application form. The communication related to the exam is sent to your email address. If you make a mistake in writing the email address, you may not get important communication like a hall ticket for the exam. If you do not have a hall ticket before the examination date, you cannot appear for the exam.

Mentioning the right mobile number is also crucial for the same reason. It is also necessary you keep the number active until the recruitment process is completed.

Don’t Make Mistakes While Uploading Your Photograph and Signature.

The photo you upload in the SBI PO application form should not be older than six months. Make sure the photograph you upload meets the file size and image dimensions. Also, the picture should be clear.

The signature image should be clear and not smudged. And the signature should not be in capital letters. Make sure your signature image meets the file size, format, and image dimensions.

You need to ensure your signature in the photo matches your real signature. If there is a mismatch, you might be denied entry into the examination hall.

Provide Relevant Documents

Suppose you belong to a specific caste/category that allows you to apply for reserved posts, you need to provide relevant documents to verify your claim. In the absence of relevant documents, your application might not be considered for the reserved category.

Note Down Your Registration Number and Password.

Many candidates appearing for the SBI PO examination forget their IBPS registration and password. You will need these details to access your SBI PO registration account. When you register on the IBPS website, a message is sent to your mobile, containing your registration number and password. If you lose these details, you have to register on the IBPS website all over again.

Review Your Application Form

It is quite common to make mistakes while filling an online form. During the application process, you get an opportunity to review all information you have filled in various sections. The Preview stage is before the final submission of the application form. After submitting, you cannot make any changes. Hence, you need to review your application carefully before clicking the Submit button.

Online Fee Payment

Clicking the Submit button does not complete the SBI Probationary application process. The application process is completed after the payment of the fees. You have various options to pay fees like debit card, credit card, and many more. Choose a convenient payment mode and pay the fees. Wait for the payment process to complete. Don’t close the browser tab until you see “Payment successful’ or any message that indicates completion of the application process.

Examination Centres

You are required to select a minimum of two sets of examination centres near you. Many times the exam centres in smaller cities get cancelled due to some reason. Hence, choose at least one exam centre in a major city near you.

To sum up, these are some of the mistakes that you should avoid while filling the SBI Probationary officers application form.
